Have you ever walked into a Martial Arts training centre and felt intimidated by the students and coaches because you are the new guy (or girl)? I have, but this was not the case when I visited Fighterz Inc. a few weeks back. In fact it was quit the opposite.
FIGHTERZ INC. MMA started when Fidaah Edries, youth counsellor and life coach realised that Muay Thai or Kickboxing is a good intervention to help at-risk youth in the area of Vygieskraal in Cape Town – an area notorious for drug addiction and gangsterism – The aim is to teach them respect, discipline and commitment, keep them off the streets and get them fit and focused.
